I broke my femur bowling 2 weeks ago, has anyone ever heard of a worse injury happening in a game of cricket. And does anyone know if I will ever be able to bowl at full pace again i just turned 18 when the day before it happened and im around 125km. I broke my femur because i slipped while bowling and my spikes stuck into the ground and my femur just snapped.

Don't lose hope

Although its a major injury, tho I don't know the extent of the injury (is it a major fracture or what) , what I can say is dont' loose hope! You're still young and in time it will heal. Thigh bone injuries are common with bowlers and usually they recover fast, but you have to be patient.

For your solace, a new zealand player called Tim Lythe had his ENTIRE left thigh bone REPLACED with a titanium rod but he returned to his first class career!!

Have hope, will bowl! Smile
